Health Care Facility Management Competencies
Health care facilities are becoming increasingly complex. This complexity requires a multi-disciplinary team to provide a safe, comfortable, and cost efficient environment for patients and health care providers. The health care facility manager must have a combination of skills, knowledge, and ability to effectively lead and manage this team and to identify, prioritize, and resolve facility related issues. This monograph defines eight competencies essential to health care facility management, addresses the emerging need for competencies related to real estate portfolio management in health care, and discusses how these competencies equip the manager for leadership.
