Dave Dagenais, CHSP, CHFM, FASHE, is currently the director of plant operations and safety officer at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire. Dave has been involved in the health care field and code development process for more than 18 years. He currently sits on NFPA Health Care Section Executive Board, NFPA 730 Technical Committee Guide for Premises Security, NFPA 731 Technical Committee Standard for the Installation of Electronic Premises Security Systems, NFPA Health Care Section Codes and Standards Review Committee, NFPA 99 Technical Collating Committee, NFPA 99 Technical Committee on Electrical Systems and NFPA 99 Technical Committee on Emergency Management and Security, and has been appointed to the NFPA Healthcare Interpretation Task Force. Dave has served as president of the NH Society of Healthcare Engineers and president of the New England Healthcare Engineers Society, and is a Past President Region 1 Board member for the American Society for Health Care Engineering and the chair of the American Society of Health Care Engineering Advocacy Committee. He is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager, a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional, and a Senior ASHE member (SASHE) with the American Society for Health Care Engineering.

Mike Crowley holds a B.S. in fire protection and safety engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and an MBA from The University of Houston. Mike is a licensed professional engineer in five states. Mike has more than 40 years of fire protection engineering consulting experience. Professional organization involvement includes Fellow in Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), Lifetime Member of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) with activity on NFPA technical committees including NFPA 101 - Healthcare Occupancies and Means of Egress, and NFPA 99 Correlating Committee and Fundamentals Technical Committee. Mike was the 2020 president of SFPE and a member of NFPA Standards Council. He is a Life Safety Code and NFPA 99 instructor for NFPA. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE). Mike has authored numerous technical articles and made presentations at various conferences and symposiums. Mike provides consulting to architects, facility managers and building owners around the world.

Josh offers numerous perspectives into health care facilities management due to his diverse background. Starting his career in fire protection design at a national engineering firm, Josh gained a strong foundation in codes and standards. He leveraged this technical expertise to build relationships across the nation and through the ASHE Sustainability Committee and Regulatory Affairs Committee. Later transitioning to a fire protection contracting company, Josh leads Joint Commission compliance and energy management at Arkansas’ largest health care organization, Baptist Health. In 2018, Josh also co-founded Legacy FM and works with hospitals and organizations to empower the men and women that keep our hospitals running by developing training programs for facilities management leaders and their teams.

Faculty for Health Care Construction Workshop
Leo Old, MS, PE, CIH, CSP, CHFM, FASHE, has more than 25 years of experience in working with health care institutions on issues related to occupational safety and health and regulatory compliance. He currently serves as Vice President of Health & Safety for EnSafe, a professional services company providing engineering, environmental, health and safety, and information technology services to professional and government clients. Leo’s experience includes serving as general safety officer and industrial hygiene officer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (SJCRH) in Memphis, Tenn., where he was responsible for fire safety, emergency preparedness, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and indoor air quality. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Christian Brothers University and his Master of Science degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Memphis. Leo is a registered fire protection engineer, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Healthcare Facility Manager, and Certified Healthcare Constructor. He also serves as a faculty member for ASHE.

Renée Robison Jacobs is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager, Certified Healthcare Constructor and Fellow of the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) with more than 30 years and over $1 billion of experience in construction project management, health care facilities management and technical sales and management. Ms. Jacobs is the business development manager – healthcare North America for Distech Controls. Formerly, as vice president of facilities and construction at Saint Luke’s Health System, Ms. Jacobs had oversight of all areas of design, construction, renovation, master planning, and plant operations and maintenance for 11 Kansas City area hospitals. Ms. Jacobs led the New Saint Luke’s $330 million capital construction project, successfully completing a portion of the project as the first integrated project delivery (IPD) project for the health system. Ms. Jacobs is an active member of ASHE, serving as faculty, the professional reputation committee chair and on several task forces. She is active in the local ASHE chapter, the Kansas City Area Healthcare Engineers (KCAHE) and has served on the board as president, past-president and secretary. Additionally, Ms. Jacobs is a founding board member of LEAN KC, a chapter of the Lean Construction Institute, is a member of the University of Nebraska Construction Industry Advisory Committee and the Overland Park Rotary Club.
