Description

Lessons for Now and the Future

Speakers:

Dale Taglienti LEED AP, Partner / e4h Architecture
Chris MacKenzie, Vice President, STARC Systems

Description:

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on infrastructure planning, infection risk management, and emergency response plans. Heroic actions and creative problem solving have been core to minimizing risks to patient and staff safety. This discussion will cover key architectural challenges surfacing as more healthcare facilities deal with patient surges, and creative ways facilities across the country are addressing those challenges. We will share design examples in action, including how pre-fabricated modular solutions help deliver on demand isolation capacity across some of the nation’s earliest and ongoing hotspots. Our panelists offer a perspective immediately deployable options for evolving emergency response plans, as well as considerations that will endure beyond the current pandemic.

Learning Objectives:

  • Most common challenges to converting existing hospital spaces for infection isolation.
  • Options for creating surge capacity with current infrastructure.
  • The out-sized impact and role of negative air, and key questions addressed
  • The importance of flexible configurations for addressing current emergency response
  • Ways re-usable solutions serve you in an environment of constant and unpredictable changes, including post-pandemic.
  • Lessons that will endure beyond our current crisis.

*Lunch and Learn webinars are not eligible for CECs or contact hours.
