New AHA resource offers strategies to mitigate violence and promote a culture of safety

A new issue brief from AHA’s Hospitals Against Violence initiative offers proven strategies and action steps to help hospitals and health systems’ violence mitigation efforts fit into the organization’s culture of safety strategy and lead to better patient outcomes. The brief also discusses how violence mitigation can be integrated into patient and worker safety initiatives and eight components of a culture of safety. The third in a series based on HAV’s framework for building a safe workplace and community, the issue brief was developed with input from the HAV advisory group and released in conjunction with the AHA Patient Safety Initiative.
