Our Project
The Jewel & Jim Plumb Heart Center at Mercy is a two-story, 72,000-square-foot cardiovascular care center in Cedar Rapids, IA, connected to Mercy Medical Center via a 280-foot skyway. The new center combines previously disconnected cardiovascular services under one roof and includes cardiac rehab, diagnostic cardiovascular imaging and a 72-exam room heart clinic. The center features space for community education and programming and includes a training kitchen, a healthy living cafe and an outdoor walking track.
The building is designed for future vertical expansion to accommodate anticipated additional program growth while blending seamlessly into the surrounding community. Ryan’s integrated design-build team worked alongside the client for more than two years to understand the owner’s current and future needs, helping position Mercy Medical Center to become the premier provider of cardiovascular services in the area.
