The Joint Commission

The Joint Commission is an accrediting organization that can certify health care organizations as having met the Conditions of Participation (CoPs) required for reimbursement under the federal Medicare program. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has granted the Joint Commission “deeming authority” to survey and certify health care facilities as having met the CoPs.
