ASHE Elects Terry L. Martin President-Elect
New board members also named

CHICAGO-September 22, 2008 -The American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA) today announced Terry L. Martin, CHFM, SASHE, Director, Engineering at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Arkansas as 2009 President Elect. The President-Elect will assume the presidency in 2010.

ASHE has also elected five new members to its board of directors for terms beginning on January 1, 2009 and ending December 31, 2010. The ASHE board has the responsibility of defining ASHE's mission, goals and objectives, as well as developing the strategic and financial plans to achieve them. Newly elected board members are:

Region One -- Frederick A. Leffingwell, CHFM Director of Facility Planning Management, Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London, Conn.
Region Two -- Benedict DiFranco, CHFM, SASHE, Facility Manager, Mountainside Hospital, Montclair, N.J.
Region Four -- Ralph C. Graham, Jr., CHFM, Director, Hospital Maintenance UAB, Birmingham, Ala.
Region Five - York W. Chan, CHFM, Director of Facilities, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago, Ill.
Region Nine - Richard A. Prevallet, CHFM, Director of Facilities, Tucson Medical Center, Tucson, Ariz.
