It has been both an honor and my privilege to have served you these past three (3) year as the ASHE Region 7 Board of Directors representative. I am committed to supporting ASHE’s vision of engaging stakeholders (ASHE’s members and affiliated chapters) in creating the optimum healing health care physical environment. I humbly request your support and vote in my candidacy for the 2018- 2019 ASHE’s Board of Directors representing Region 7.
First, I would like to express my gratitude for allowing me to represent our profession as your ASHE Region 7 Board of Directors representative since 2015. It has been both an honor and my privilege to have been entrusted to serve you these past three years. I am now humbly requesting your support and vote in my candidacy for ASHE’s Board of Directors representing Region 7 for the 2018-2019 term.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to supporting ASHE’s vision of engaging stakeholders (ASHE’s members and affiliated chapters) in creating the optimum healing healthcare physical environment. I have served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Healthcare Facilities Management (TAHFM) from 2005 to 2015, including serving as the President from 2011 to 2013. In my tenure as a TAHFM board representative and executive officer, I was honored to contribute to several notable achievements:
- A significant improvement in TAHFM's financial position,
- A remarkable increase in membership, both in professional and associate memberships,
- Establishment of a scholarship program funding member attendance at the TAHFM annual conference named “Interlink”,
- Implementation of statewide networking events that increased membership value,
- TAHFM support in establishing an ASHE Affiliated Chapter in Louisiana.
In the last three years, while serving you as your ASHE board representative, I first served on the ASHE Chapter Relations Advisory Committee as the Co-Chair and advocated on behalf of affiliated chapters. The last two years, I have chaired the ASHE Sustainability Committee and have contributed to ASHE’s efforts in raising awareness and participation in the Energy to Care program. These efforts resulted in a participation increase of 42.8%, participation of eleven (11) ASHE Affiliated Chapters in the 2016 ASHE Energy Challenges, and ASHE being recognized as the EPA’s Energy Star 2017 Partner of the Year.
With your support, it will be my goal to continue working daily on your behalf to improve the value of your ASHE membership and the overall organization. I believe that my 35+ year career as a healthcare facilities management professional, working in small and large, profit and non-profit institutions, have uniquely equipped me to understand the challenges that our ASHE members face on a daily basis. It is my intent to support all initiatives that will equip our members to face these challenges.
It has truly been my honor to have represented and serve you these past three years. I am now requesting your support and vote in my candidacy for ASHE’s Board of Directors representing Region 7 for the 2018-2019 term.
