ASHE is seeking faculty members for our educational programs. We are looking for leaders in the field of health care facility management, design, and construction who can bring their expertise to our educational programs and provide our learners with the essential skills and knowledge needed to work effectively.

ASHE FacultyASHE is a trusted resource that provides education, regulatory guidance, networking, advocacy representation, and professional development to our members and those involved in creating and managing the physical health care environment. As an ASHE faculty member your partnership with ASHE will bring great value to our members and to health care, and is a key component of our mission of optimizing health care facilities.

ASHE faculty members are recognized as being leaders in the various disciplines associated with the health care environment as well as ASHE liaisons. ASHE faculty members are involved in teaching in ASHE's education programs as well as developing new educational content for ASHE programs and e-learning.

The time commitment for serving as an ASHE faculty member varies depending on each individuals ability to dedicate time to faculty responsibilities and their own areas of interest and expertise. ASHE hopes that our faculty members find their participation rewarding both personally and professionally.

ASHE faculty information includes:

  • ASHE faculty members will be listed on the on the ASHE Education website, including a picture and brief biography.
  • ASHE faculty members must be ASHE members in good standing. (Non-members may apply, but will have to become a member if selected to join the ASHE Faculty)
  • ASHE faculty members will conduct themselves in a professional manner that demonstrates integrity and respect; this includes dressing appropriately for the occasion and audience.
  • ASHE will pay faculty members an honorarium based on days of participation at each program.
  • ASHE faculty members are required to travel, including some weekend travel.

    • ASHE will reimburse for travel and meal expenses related to this program in accordance with the American Hospital Association policy for reimbursement.

Becoming an ASHE Faculty Member is a four step process

  1. Candidates must complete a short on-line application that includes a short essay, teaching references and a resume. Applications are due by June 30, 2017.
  2. Applications are reviewed and an initial group of candidates is selected. Candidates will be notified by September 8, 2017 if they are selected for continuation in the interview panel step of the process.
  3. The interview panel step of the process will take place on October 2 or 3, 2017 in Chicago. Candidates are brought to Chicago for an interview process that includes meeting with a panel and a demonstration of the candidates teaching abilities.
  4. Candidates will be notified of their acceptance as by November 1, 2017

    • All new Faculty Members are required to participate in the ASHE New Faculty Orientation and Faculty Training on December 6 - 8, 2017 in Chicago. Following is the schedule for this mandatory orientation and training.

      December 6 | 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
      December 7 | 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

      Faculty Training for ALL Faculty
      December 7 | 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
      December 8 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
