With those contacts and close ties, where better to get straight answers to the hard questions? Make Ask ASHE your primary source for honest, accurate, and clear information on code requirements and expectations.
How do I Ask ASHE?
Accurate information is just an e-mail away. Simply go to Ask ASHE, and fill out the request form. Provide as much specific information as possible, so we can provide you with a specific answer. We will then get to work to find the right person with the right answer to your question.
Ground Rules
To manage the chaos, we have a few simple ground rules:
- Ask ASHE is intended for codes and standards questions only. All other questions should be submitted to the ASHE Listserv.
- The program is a benefit for ASHE members, so you must be an ASHE member to use it.
- You get what you give. So that all ASHE members may benefit from the exchange, your question and our answer may be used in any ASHE communication (e.g., ASHE e-News, Inside ASHE, and ASHE.org). If you want your name/organization to remain confidential, let us know when you submit your question.
- This service is not intended to replace your occasional need for health care consultants, planners, or design engineers. Organization-specific questions will not be accepted. Not sure whether your question falls under this heading? Go ahead and ask; if it does, we will let you know.
In the complex, confusing, contradictory world of health care code compliance, there is a single place to go to tap into a world of knowledge—just Ask ASHE.
Small-town, USA - This just in. Joint Commission Life Safety Specialist, riding in a chariot drawn by fire-breathing dragons, hurls down lightning bolts on community hospital. Hospital destroyed and town infested with vermin.
Does this scenario sound familiar? Everyday, you are bombarded with e-mail solicitations designed to make you fearful of the Joint Commission, OSHA, EPA, and a long list of others. They’re out to get you - and the only way to save your job is to buy this book or attend this training seminar or subscribe to this newsletter. Now, really.
In his 1976 Oscar-winning performance in the movie Network, Peter Finch made famous the line “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore.” Well, ASHE’s Advocacy Committee is, too. So, in response to fear tactics, misinformation, legends, myths, and outright lies, ASHE invites you to Ask ASHE.
