Reid Hospital

ln order to continue the quality of care for which it was known, Reid Hospital established a new healthcare campus that included a free-standing rehabilitation facility, a medical office building, an outpatient care center and a replacement hospital-together totaling nearly 800,000 square feet with a project cost of $318 million. Using technology, efficiency and healing environments as top priorities, the design of these connected buildings is seamless from a patient's perspective, even though departmental adjacencies were carefully considered to maximize operation efficiency for staff and convenience for patients.

Renown Regional Medical Center
Reno, Nevada
Project Description for Gallery Program As the region continues to experience unprecedented growth, the expansion at Renown Regional Medical Center symbolizes a commitment to provide physicians and caregivers the technology, space and equipment needed to deliver advanced healthcare. A Level ll Trauma Center, Renown's high-tech patient care includes expanded surgical services, imaging,
cardiology, emergency rooms and ICU beds.
The 11-story bed tower includes 190 private patient rooms, with expansion capability for up to 340 beds. Evidence-based design concepts include decentralized nurse stations reducing staff traveltime. Therapeutic elements such as expansive views in patient rooms, healing gardens, tranquil colors and noise reduction systems reduce patient stress. Hotel-like amenities include flat paneltelevisions, custom artwork and indirect lighting.
Renown's concrete base is accentuated with a backlit Kalwall strip that lines the operating room floor, allowing natural light to enter during the day and providing a dramatic ribbon of light at night.
