Ahuja Medical Center
Building on the vision set by the Ahuja family, Ahuja Medical Center will be a world class facility where care is delivered in a personalized way. The design concept is community. The form itself is shaped to engage the surrounding neighborhoods. Strategic use of natural light helps to bring the outside in, making the project one with its site and protected wetlands. The modern style of the design is set to compliment the buildings of Beachwood, while creating a new center where people can be brought together to work, live, and heal. The facility will incorporate the latest in technology and patient safety. Furthermore, it breaks down the conventions of traditional departments and is organized to create separate invasive and non-invasive floors for a better continuum of care. Initially a 144 bed community hospital, the chassis is designed to grow up to 600 beds, while maintaining the community concept.
Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Phoenix Children’s Hospital is planning a major expansion in response to a growing pediatric population that is expected to top 1.5 million by 2030. Planned with the concept of family-centered care in mind, the hospital set out to make the Phoenix Children’s experience even better for families and patients. On the Thomas Road campus, the addition of a new 142-bed patient tower with all private rooms allows more privacy for families and patients during the hospital stay. An ambulatory care building, new main entry boulevard, and expanded parking garage is also planned. Construction of the extensive project will be completed in phases -- without ever closing the hospital doors.
