2008 International Conference and Exhibition on Health Facility Planning Design and Construction ™ (PDC)
CHICAGO (November 1, 2007) The American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA) will help healthcare organizations address “The Business of Sustaining our Future” during its 2008 International Conference and Exhibition on Health Facility Planning Design and Construction ™ (PDC) . The PDC, developed through the combined efforts of ASHE and the American Institute of Architects Academy of Architecture for Health (AIA/AAH) is expected to attract more than 2,500 registered attendees in Orlando March 10-13, 2008. This Conference is the premier event for all professionals involved with the Planning, Design and Construction of healthcare facilities both here and abroad.
“ASHE is committed to providing the highest quality of educational programming
while giving the attendees a chance to meet and learn from one another in this
well-respected venue,” said John R. Wood, CHFM, SASHE, 2008 ASHE President. “This
year’s Conference will be very special, in that it has been designed
to be environmentally friendly. In lieu of the traditional paper-handouts,
each attendee will receive a flash drive containing all handouts from all the
sessions. By reducing our dependence on paper, we are truly showing our
commitment to identifying sustainable alternatives for ourselves, our facilities
and our communities, improving the quality of our lives and also the lives
of future generations,” he added.

Scientist, Environmentalist, and Broadcaster shares his insights in the Keynote
address entitled Challenge of the 21st Century: Setting the Real Bottom Line
Andrew Winston, Corporate Environmental Strategy Expert and
Co-Author of Green to Gold provides techniques to make you environmentally
sensitive as your hospital goes green.
James Bentley, Ph.D., Senior Vice President for Strategic
Policy Planning, American Hospital Association, Washington DC gives you an
insider’s view on cutting edge of industry drivers that will develop
into trends that impact our facilities and the way healthcare will be delivered
in the future.
2008 Award Presentations
During the Opening Session on Monday ASHE will announce the 2008 VISTA Award
for teamwork in the areas of New Construction, Renovation and Infrastructure. The
award recipients will also hold a panel discussion sharing their best practices
and discuss what makes an Award-winning Project.
Sunrise Sessions
Special early morning sessions give you the chance to learn about how you can
get involved in the review and develop of the codes and standards that impact
the operations of our facility.
