Tim Adams, CHFM, SASHE is the Director of Member Professional Development for the American Society for Healthcare Engineering working in the areas of advocacy, code and standard compliance and education. Prior to joining the ASHE Staff, Tim spent over 20 years working in and with hospitals in the areas of Clinical Engineering and Facilities Management, the last 15 years with Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana. He is a long term faculty member for ASHE educational programs and is a frequent speaker at ASHE and other regional and national conferences.

Tim is a Past President of the Indiana Society for Healthcare Engineering (ISHE) and the Indiana Biomedical Society (IBS). He is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) and a Senior ASHE Member (SASHE).

Mr. Leo M. Gehring, CHFM, FASHE
Leo Gehring has invested over 35 years in managing the environment of care. He is now the Vice Chancellor for Campus Operations at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  Leo is a member of the executive management team serving on the Chancellors Cabinet. He leads the Campus Operations missions including Construction and Contract Management, Plant Operations, Parking Operations, Campus Police, UAMS Bookstore, Clinical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Campus Housekeeping, Cafeteria and Nutrition Services, Mail Services and Telecommunications. 

Leo has served on the faculty of many healthcare-engineering conferences for the American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), Association of Physical Plant Administrators of Universities and Colleges (APPA), local healthcare engineering societies and private industry. He has served on healthcare engineering steering committees at both the national and state levels.  He was elected president of the Arkansas Association for Hospital Engineering in 1992 and in 2001 he was elected to serve as the Region 7 Director for ASHE in 2000 for a two-year term. He also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board, FacilityCare magazine, IHS Publishing Group. He was elected President-Elect of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering in 2005 and served as President of the Society in 2007.   He became a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager in 2001, became a Senior Member of ASHE in 2003 and a Fellow Member in 2007. Kenneth A. Monroe, P.E., is a Senior Project Manager with Adams Management Services. Ken has over 30 years of experience in project management and mechanical engineering including experience in facilities management and project management at several Chicago area hospitals. He is currently on the project management team for University Hospitals in Cleveland, where they are managing over $600 million in new construction. He is registered in the State of Illinois as a Professional Engineer.

Ken is a frequent speaker on project management and taught project management at the Keller Graduate School of Business for several years. He is an active member of numerous professional associations, including ASHE. (11/2/2007)

Ed Tinsley is the Chief Executive Officer of TME, Inc., in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Tinsley is a registered Professional Engineer, a registered Technical Analyst, a Certified Energy Manager, and a LEEDTM Accredited Professional. Mr. Tinsley has more than 25 years of experience in facilities engineering both as a consultant and as a representative of the building owner for hospital, university, commercial and industrial clients. During his career, Mr. Tinsley has specialized in the field of energy conservation.

Mr. Tinsley has won seven (7) energy awards from ASHRAE, Inc., for projects he has designed or managed. He has also been presented with two Presidential Awards for Leadership in Federal Energy Management in October 2003 and October 2006. (11/2007)

John Wood, CHFM, SASHE is Administrative Director of Facilities at Mercy Medical Center Roseburg, Oregon; a Catholic Healthcare Initiatives hospital.

John has worked in all facets of healthcare facilities management (maintenance, safety, design & construction) since 1977. He has provided leadership as Director of Facilities Services at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center, a for-profit Triad Hospital; as well as in a large non-profit HMO System as Regional Director of Facilities Services for Kaiser Permanente’s Northwest Region. John has owned and operated his own small business providing facilities management consulting services.

John is the current President-Elect for American Society for Healthcare Engineering and will be the 2008 ASHE President. In addition, he has served as Chapter President of IFMA, CRHE, and OSHE professional facilities management associations and is a past Director of ASHE – Region 10. (11/5/2007)
