The PDC Exhibition Proudly Announces the Green Patient Room at the 2008 PDC!
It is almost impossible not to notice the dramatic increase in the amount of Green products, services and technologies across all industries. As professionals who create and maintain the physical environment in healthcare facilities, there is a responsibility to research and evaluate these technologies as they become available to the healthcare industry.
Created by architectural firm Anshen+Allen in conjunction with the IFMA Health Care Council and Skanska, The Green Patient Room is a completely built patient room that offers attendees the opportunity to walk thorough and be educated on all the practical, cost-effective steps to combat energy waste and improve patient health. The Green Patient Room is divided into three zones: patient, family and staff. This full-scale model illustrates how sustainable design practices can improve patient care by increasing efficiency and reducing the anxiety of medical staff, patients and families.
