Directions & Transportation

Situated at the foot of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Gaylord National lies just off I-95 on the Capital Beltway at the I-295 interchange. This provides direct access to the nation's capital, which is located 8 miles due north.

Gaylord National is just a 15-minute drive from Reagan National Airport and within a 45-minute drive from Dulles and Baltimore Washington International Airports. Shuttle service and car service are available from either airport to the hotel. And for a unique day trip, take a water taxi across the Potomac to historic Old Town Alexandria.

Metro Accessibility

Metro bus shuttle services will be available to/from the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center and the Southern Avenue Metro Station. This shuttle will be available 7 days a week from 6:00AM - 10:00PM at an interval of every 20 minutes. The pick-up/drop-off location is in front of the Gaylord Entrance at the intersection of Waterfront Street and St. George’s Blvd.

Water Taxi Routes & Prices

Potomac Riverboat Company will operate Water Taxi Service to/from Old Town Alexandria, Georgetown and Mount Vernon. Schedules and prices are as follows:

Alexandria
Runs daily from 10:00am to 10:00pm. The water taxi will stop at the Gaylord National pier at the bottom of the hour (i.e. 10:30am) Cost is $7.00 per person one-way and $14.00 per person round trip

Georgetown
Runs daily departing at the Gaylord National pier at 12:00pm, 3:00pm, 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Travel time is an hour and 15 minutes. Returning at 1:30pm, 4:30pm, 7:30pm and 10:30pm. Cost is $26.00 per person round trip

Mount Vernon
Runs once a day departing the Gaylord National dock at 11:10am and arrives at Mount Vernon at Noon. Return trip leaves Mount Vernon at 4:00pm and arrives back at Gaylord National at 5:00pm. Round trip cost is $38.00 per person including admission to Mount Vernon
