The Next Generation of Infection Control During Construction

This program provides critical information about infection prevention methods that will help you protect the population you serve during construction, operation, and maintenance of health care facilities. Through interactive discussions, your knowledge of the interrelationship between environmental infection control and construction will be strengthened. Case studies will present infection control measures that could be used by your institution. At the completion of this program, you will be able to:
- Apply infection control risk assessment (ICRA) principles to design, construction, renovation, and maintenance activities.
- Implement infection control risk mitigation recommendations based on the ICRA.

Certified Health Care Constructor (CHC) Exam Preparation Workshop
Note: additional fee required for this preconference workshop. In addition, attending this course does not register you to take the exam. You can register for the CHC exam at www.aha.org/certifcenter/CHC.
This workshop provides test taking tips and an overview of the topics identified in the CHC content outline as published in the CHC Candidate Handbook. The CHC exam includes recall, applicability, and analysis types of questions. The workshop will include practice questions based on the CHC topic outline. In addition the class will incorporate the use of interactive polling technology that allows each participant to answer questions, and compare their answers with averages from others in the class. At the completion of this program, you will be able to:
- Implement suggestions for preparing for the CHC exam.
- Identify which topic areas are your strengths.

Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) Exam Prep Workshop
Join EDAC experts for a comprehensive study session to prepare for the EDAC exam. This session will provide detailed information for studying and passing the EDAC exam, including the five domains of the exam and the sub-domains covered in the Detailed Content Outline. Be prepared to get exam pointers, tips, and study tools from the experts. The workshop will include application materials, exam topics, sample questions, scoring criteria, and exam schedules. This session is presented by EDAC from The Center for Health Design. You can register for this workshop through the online PDC registration form. AAHID Exam Preparation Workshop
The American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers recognizes that healthcare is highly complex and is constantly changing, making it important to ensure that the professionals who design such facilities understand the issues that may impact patients and/or residents, their families, and healthcare providers.
The AAHID Exam Workshop will provide designers, architects and administrators with valuable information about the certification process and the required knowledge base, materials and procedures for achieving certification in healthcare interior design. The workshop covers the application process, exam topics, sample questions, scoring criteria and the exam schedule. In addition, information about AAHID and the benefits of Board-Certified Healthcare Interiors Designers will be provided.
AAHID certifies the knowledge, skills and abilities of healthcare interior designers. Board-Certified Healthcare Interior Designers are distinguished and qualified by demonstrated experience in the specialty of healthcare interior design and successful completion of a comprehensive exam. Note: additional fee required for the facility tours. The fee includes transportation to and from the facility. Architectural tours of local health care facilities are being organized by the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA). Tours will depart at 1:00pm and return by 5:00pm.
